Hebron Cemetery

A workday for Hebron Cemetery will be held starting at 8 a.m. May 11.

All flowers will be removed from headstones, and volunteers are needed to help with mowing, weed-eating and general maintenance. New flowers may be placed on graves once the workday is completed.

A Decoration Day celebration will be held May 19 with a potluck dinner at noon. A Hebron Cemetery Association meeting will follow at 1 p.m.

To get to the cemetery from West Plains, take U.S. 160 west to E Highway at South Fork and turn left. Follow the road south about 36 miles; it will become Arkansas Highway 223 at the state line and pass through Viola about 6.5 miles before the turnoff to the cemetery, Finch Road. Turn right onto Finch road and continue 1.8 miles to Hebron Church Road. The cemetery will be on the left.

Donations are sought to help with cemetery upkeep and to honor those buried there, including numerous veterans, said officials. Mail contributions to Hebron Cemetery c/o Max Williams, 4867 N. Arkansas Highway 9, Brockwell, AR 72517.
