Six injured in midweek traffic crashes

A woman attempting to make a left turn suffered minor injuries when her vehicle was struck by another at 8 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 63, 4 miles north of Thayer in Oregon County, reported the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. L.C. Pruiett with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported Martin W. Crews, 46, Alton, was in the northbound lane and trying to turn left onto County Road 359 when his 2024 Ford F150 was struck by a northbound Toyota Corolla Matrix driven by Diana L. Webster, 61, Alton.

Both drivers wore seat belts, the report shows, and Webster was taken by ambulance to Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark., for treatment.

According to the report, damage to the F150 was minor and the pickup truck was driven from the scene, while Webster’s vehicle was totaled and had to be towed.

Moderate injuries were reported for an Ozark County man whose pickup truck ran into a tree at 3 p.m. Wednesday on N Highway in Douglas County, 2 miles north of Wasola.

Tpr. K.L. Hogan reported Steven M. Cannucci, 55, Wasola, was driving west in a 2013 Nissan Frontier that traveled off the left side of the road into the tree, causing him to be thrown from the vehicle. Cannucci reportedly did not wear a seat belt.

He was taken by Douglas County Ambulance to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for medical treatment, the report shows.

A semitruck driver from Tennessee was hurt in a crash at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 99 a mile north of Thomasville in Oregon County.

Tpr. A.K. Falterman reported Gerald Morris, 61, Memphis, Tenn., was wearing a seat belt when his southbound 2017 International crossed the center of the road and overturned off the left side of the highway. Morris was taken by private vehicle to Regional One Health in Memphis for treatment of minor injuries, the report shows.

Falterman was assisted at the scene by Msgt. T.W. Meyer, Cpl. D.L. Nash and Tpr. Pruiett.

Two people suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday on east U.S. 160, a mile east of West Plains.

Trooper C.C. Battreal reported an eastbound 1993 Ford Ranger driven by Katauna D. Parker, 23, West Plains, rear-ended a 2019 Buick Encore driven by Ashlyn N. Jones, 20, of Willow Springs. The impact reportedly caused the Buick to run into the back of a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Patrick A. Pettey, 31, of Alton.

Parker and a 10-year-old girl from Alton who was a passenger in her vehicle were wearing seat belts and reportedly suffered minor injuries, according to the patrol. The child was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment and Parker was taken to the same facility by private vehicle, according to the patrol.

Battreal was assisted at the scene by Cpl. D.L. Nash.

Dakota A. Wade, 24, Plato, suffered minor injuries in a crash at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 17, 6 miles north of Houston in Texas County.

Tpr. J.L. Sentman reported Wade was driving a southbound 2016 Ford Explorer that ran off the right side of the road, hit a tree and overturned.

Wade was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by Texas County Ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston for treatment, the report shows.

The Houston Rural Fire Department assisted at the scene.

An Ozark County man was involved in a crash that resulted in minor injuries to a woman at 6:45 p.m. May 2 on D Highway 2 miles north of Rogersville in Greene County.

Cpl. D.L. Johnson with Troop D of the patrol, Springfield, reported Raymond Peacy, 74, Wasola, was driving west in his 2018 Subaru Forester when a southbound 1999 Chevrolet Venture, driven by Haley Hollingshead, 24, Rogersville, failed to yield and turned directly into the Subaru’s path, causing the Subaru to strike the Chevrolet’s driver’s side door.

Hollingshead was taken by private vehicle to Cox South for treatment, the report shows. No injuries were reported for Peacy.
