For the second time in a month, vandalism to machines at the Laundry Land laundromat ON Porter Wagoner Boulevard has resulted in felony property damage charges being filed, this time against two people who were apparently involved in the same incident. The suspects were reportedly recorded committing the alleged crimes on surveillance video during the incidents. more

An Ava resident described as a predatory sexual offender in court documents seeking charges, is facing 29 felonies including five counts each of first-degree child molestation, statutory sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse as an aggravated sexual offense, abuse of a child less than 14 years old including sexual abuse and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, creating a substantial risk, first offense with sexual conduct; plus three counts each of incest and one count of failure to register as a sex offender. more

The Mtn. View Garden Club met Dec. 13 to celebrate those who helped the club through the year. Sixteen club members met at the Mtn. View Community Center to combine over 50 dozen cookies that they had baked. Thirty-two Cookie platters were assembled and delivered to the many city departments and individuals who contributed to another successful garden club year, said Robi Tanner, speaking on behalf of the club. After, members enjoyed a festive holiday lunch at Viandel Vineyard in Mtn. View. The Mtn. View Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri and the Central Region Garden Clubs.
