Posted

Five new Court Appointed Special Advocates volunteers for the 37th Judicial Circuit branch of the national Court Appointed Special Advocates Association were sworn into service Thursday during a ceremony held at the Howell County Circuit Courthouse. 37th Judicial CASA Executive Director Connie Pendergrass said CASA has had an increase in volunteers following the COVID-19 pandemic, since CASA is now able to resume active recruitment of volunteer advocates to help area children who come to the attention of the court primarily as a result of abuse or neglect. The 37th Judicial CASA serves children in Howell, Oregon, Shannon and Carter counties. Volunteers being sworn in by 37th Circuit Presiding Judge Steven Privette, facing away from the camera, are, from left, Cheryl Murphy, Sandra Harding, Jessica Solis, Carl Arrington and Tamara Arrington.
