MOUNTAIN VIEW – Surrounded by loved ones and district staff and administrators, degrees were awarded to 75 Mtn. View-Birch Tree Liberty High School Eagles on May 16 during a ceremony that began with a speech delivered by Salutatorian Landon Hines and was followed by Valedictorian Gavin Reese’s speech.
Rounding out the top 10% of the class in grade point average were Matthew Roby, Taylor Manley, Jasmine Hulvey, Grace Conner, Lillie McAdams and Ashlynn Henry. In addition to the eight students already mentioned, Savannah Holdt and Korie Lind graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average.
Graduating magna cum laude with a GPA ranging from 3.75 to 3.99 were Addyson Rutledge, Kaylie Wagner, Teytam McClellan, Lukas Perkins, Anthony Bates, Madison Martinez, Bishop Campbell, Kennedy Stallsworth, Landon Hulvey, Damon Kelly and Reece Walton.
Graduating cum laude with a GPA between 3.5 through 3.74 were Kenneth Mayer, Kaitlyn Crane, Christopher Springman, Bryleigh Wallace, Kinzey Stark, Jadyn Young, Tasha Cherry, Daylin Flores Varela, Liah Carlson, Garrett Reller, Ella Phipps and Parker Holden.
That means 33 of the 75 seniors, nearly half, graduated with academic honors, and Walton also graduated with an associate degree.
