Area Independence Day activities

The Faith Tabernacle 4th of July Celebration will be held beginning 7 p.m. today with revival services featuring Brother Kenson and family, and conclude with fireworks Friday evening. Volleyball, basketball, pickleball and food will be a part of the festivities. Faith Tabernacle is located off of DD Highway at Rover.

A celebration will be held beginning 5 p.m. Thursday in Alton with live music, food, and children’s games.

An Independence Eve fireworks display will be held at dusk Thursday at the Highway 101 and U.S. 62 bridges on Lake Norfork. It is the 40th year for the event and patriotic music will be broadcast on 99.7 The Boot.

A parade sponsored by the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce will begin 10 a.m. Friday on Main Street, followed by a patriotic program at the Star Theatre.

AMVETS Post 98 will hold its annual July 4 event with a remembrance ceremony on the hill at 2 p.m. followed by games and food starting at 3 p.m. Food tickets are $1 each and fireworks will be set off at dark. The Post is located at 1852 County Road 6070 in West Plains.

In Salem, Ark., there will be a “Fireworks at Dark at Salem City Park,” held Friday, organized by the City of Salem and the Salem Chamber of Commerce.

In Thayer, the Southern Edge Band will host the Thayer 4th of July Firework Show beginning 5 p.m. Friday at the Thayer High School football field, 401 E. Walnut St. There will be activities, food trucks, vendors, music and a fireworks display at dark.

A “Parade of Patriotism” will be held beginning 5 p.m. Friday on Main Street in Cabool, followed by a block party with food trucks, games, contests, vendors, activities and fireworks at dusk.

A benefit for Whetstone Boys Ranch will be held from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday at Pine Meadows Venue, 1449 Highway 76, Willow Springs. Music will be performed by Ha Ha Tonka and Brady Walton, and there will be food trucks, a bounce house, yard games, carriage rides and a fireworks show. Tickets are $20 each for adults, $10 each for children age 12 and younger, and children age 5 and younger may attend for free. Tickets may be purchased online or at the gate.

There will be a rodeo and fireworks display from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday at the Thomasville Community Center off of Highway 99. Admission is $5 and the festivities will begin with a rodeo and fireworks display, followed by more rodeo events. Concessions will be available.
