Caulfield man dies in Saturday afternoon crash

Posted

A 36-year-old Caulfield man died after being thrown from his pickup truck Saturday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. C.A. Edens, Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported the accident happened at 12:27 p.m. Saturday on H Highway, 4 miles west of Caulfield in Ozark County, when the man’s westbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road, where it struck a utility pole and overturned.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, the report shows.

He was pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m. at the scene by Ozark County Deputy Coroner Ed Doren.

The death is the fourth traffic fatality in the nine-county Troop G area this year, compared to none in the same time frame in 2024.

The patrol no longer identifies crash victims in its public reports, citing the possibility the information could be used to perpetrate scams against victims.
