There are still openings for this year’s Citizens Academy, which begins Sept. 7, say officials with the West Plains Police Department.
Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to apply by filling out the application and returning it to the police department on Holiday Lane.
The academy aims to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about the police department and what it’s like to be a police officer in the West Plains community.
The academy well be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays for 10 weeks beginning Sept. 7.
