Through May 24: The Caulfield Community Building Board of Directors is offering a special presale of full-day building rentals for 2025 and 2026, at a discounted rate of $50 per day. Learn the history behind leather and different techniques used. May 24 (10 a.m.) The Homeland Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting. The cemetery is on County Road 6310 off West U.S. 160. Anyone interested in cemetery upkeep is urged to attend.

May 24 (10 a.m.) The Udall, Price, Mitchell Cemetery annual meeting will be held at the cemetery off O Highway in Udall. All are welcome.

May 24 (2-4 p.m.) A meet-the-artists event for current and retired art teachers whose works are on display will be hosted by the West Plains Council on the Arts in the gallery on the mezzanine at the West Plains Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St. All are invited to attend, meet the artists and discuss the pieces.

May 24 (6 p.m.) A Truck Pull will be held at the 101 Saddle Club in Caulfield. Half of the proceeds from concessions will go toward the Caulfield Community Building to help replenish funds for essential needs.

May 24 (7 p.m.) The Avenue Theatre, 307 Washington Ave., will host “Spring Sing” karaoke.

May 25 (2 p.m.) The annual meeting for Evergreen Cemetery will be held. All interested in the cemetery are invited. Evergreen is about 6 miles south of West Plains on County Road 8530. The cemetery association is particularly interested to hear from anyone with knowledge about the older part of the cemetery. May 30 (10 a.m.) The University of Missouri Extension and Scenic Rivers Invasive Species Partnership will hold a free Invasive Plants 101 Workshop at the MU Extension Center, 1376 Bill Virdon Blvd. in East Towne Village shopping center. A field trip to tour a property where invasive plants are being managed will be part of the course and participants are advised to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, as well as bring sunscreen, insect repellant and drinking water. May 30-June 1: The inaugural West Plains Tattoo Expo and Food Truck Festival will be held at the West Plains Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St. The tattoo and body-piercing convention is open to the public and runs from noon to 8 p.m. May 30, noon to 10 p.m. May 31 and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 1. Three-day passes are available for $60, or single-day passes for $20. Applications for artists and vendors are being accepted. May 31 (6 p.m.) The Boys & Girls Club of Greater West Plains presents West Plains’ first-ever Masked Singer contest at Rubydoo’s Vintage Events Center, 9240 County Road 9190. Can you guess who’s behind the mask? The event features dinner, a silent auction, giveaway drawings and a costume contest. Learn the parts and function of a spin cast fishing rod and reel and how to cast safely and well, how to fasten basic tackle and catch and handle fish, and how to tie a knot and bait a hook. June 3 (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) Ozarks Healthcare’s Behavior Health Center will host the Texas County Resource Fair at Emmett Kelly Park in Houston. Giveaways will be held, a food truck will be onsite and the Mobile Mammography Unit will offer its services. Over a dozen agencies will be participating, offering mental health-related resources, and the Division of Family Services will assist with applications for food stamps and Medicaid. June 7 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) The Current River Callers, with Missouri Department of Conservation and the National Wild Turkey Federation, will host an Extreme Jakes Shooting Event for teens ages 13 to 17 at the Rover Gun Club, Rover. The program is free and includes .22 rifle target shooting, trap and clay “rabbit.” Preregistration is required and may be done by texting your name and number of attendees to the Current River Callers at 417-274-8886. An organizer will call back to confirm. Lunch will be served and water provided. Attendees will receive a free Extreme Jakes membership and be entered into a drawing for door prizes.

June 8 (2-4 p.m.) The Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce will host a Fiercely Feminine Mother-Daughter Tea upstairs in the Ferguson Building in downtown Willow Springs. Speakers will be mother-daughter duo Becky and Anna Bradley of Mini Mosaic Acres dairy farm. The cost is $15 per person. Dr. Jason Kennedy, assistant anthropology professor at Lyons College, will present “Born to Run: The Evolution of Human Locomotion,” offering a brief overview of our ancestors starting with bipedalism, beginning about 22 million years ago.

July 4 (5:30-10 p.m.): Whetstone Boys Ranch’s Concert for a Cause at Pine Meadows Venue, 1449 Highway 76 in Willow Springs. Musicians performing are Ha Ha Tonka and Brady Walton. July 7-10 (9 a.m. to noon or 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; 5-7 p.m.) Grizzly Basketball Summer Camp with Grizzly coaches and current and former basketball players will be held at the West Plains Civic Center. Youth in eighth grade or younger are invited to learn basketball fundamentals in one of two sessions, morning only or all day. An elite camp with college-level instruction for seventh through 12th grade players will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Equipment will be provided, except for clothing. Campers are encouraged to bring a water bottle, sack lunch for all-day participants, and their own ball with their name on it, but a ball can be provided. Cost is $95 for the morning session, $185 for the all-day camp and $125 for the elite camp. Early registration is recommended. July 12: The Fulton County Fair Beauty Pageants and Youth Talent Contest will be held in the Salem (Ark.) Civic Center at the fairgrounds. Pageants for infants to children age 10 will be held in the afternoon, and for ages 11 to 23 at 7 p.m. The Youth Talent Contest will also be held at 7.
