WS asks for public’s help with water lines

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently enacted new requirements as a result of drinking water issues in Flint, Mich., and other cities, requiring all water systems to provide a complete inventory of both public and private owned water lines. To that end, consumers in Willow Springs are asked to help.
The City of Willow Springs never kept records of the material used in the construction of private water lines, said city officials. The private portion is physically located between the city’s water meter and each home or building.
The City of Willow Springs has prepared a questionnaire for completion by both residents and businesses. A paper copy is available at city hall and a copy is also available online at www.willowspringsmo.com/FormCenter/Utility-Forms-7/Lead-Service-Line-Inventory-75.
