Driver license exam stations close for holidays

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reminds the public that driver examination stations statewide will be closed Wednesday for Lincoln’s birthday, and Feb. 17 for Washington’s birthday.

Normal operations will resume the following days in both cases.

Senior Center food drive underway

The West Plains Senior Center, 416 E. Main St., is collecting food for a drive in a race to collect 2,000 pounds of food. Donors are invited to make their contributions in honor of center staff Joy, Heather, Taylor or Cheyenne.

The winning staff member will join diners for lunch and a prize will be offered to the donor who contributes the largest amount by weight.

Examples of items needed include canned goods, fruit and vegetables, juice, sauces, milk, rice, U.S. Department of Agriculture approved meat and fish, whole grain bread, sugar, flour, to-go containers or napkins.

Glenwood School sets screening dates

Glenwood School will conduct preschool and kindergarten screening on March 10 and 11.

Parents who have a child who will attend preschool or kindergarten at Glenwood for the 2025-26 school year, are asked to call the office at 417-256-4849 to schedule an appointment for their child to be screened.

Parents/guardians will need to fill out enrollment paperwork on the day of the screening, and should bring updated shot records for their child, proof of residency within the district and a birth certificate to the appointment.
