Through Feb. 28, the Lucky Clover Valley 4-H club is holding a canned food drive for the Bridges Backpack Program. The food collected will go home with the students during spring break.
As of Feb. 14, the club has collected 125 pounds of food, and received a $250 grant from the Missouri Farmers Care Drive to Feed Kids.
Those who would like to donate may drop nonperishable and canned food off at the Howell County Extension, 1378 Bill Virdon Blvd. in East Towne Village shopping center in West Plains.
The Howell County Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in regular session in the conference room on the second floor of the county office building, 35 Court Square in West Plains.
On the agenda, commissioners are expected to meet with a representative of the sheriff’s office at 11 a.m. to discuss two grant, one for enforcement of intoxicated-driving laws, and another relating to hazardous moving violations.
The commission is also expected to review and approve the 2024 financial statement.
Accounts payable presented will be approved, and guests will be recognized.
The commission typically meets each Monday and Thursday. The public is welcome.
