In recognition of Memorial Day, the Quill will be closed Monday and will reopen for normal business hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Federal, state, county, city offices will also be closed including all driver’s license exam stations, post offices, public libraries, the Howell County Courthouse and city hall.
With city offices closed, residents who normally have their trash picked up on Mondays will have trash collected Tuesday, with no other routes affected.
Missouri State University–West Plains offices will be closed.
The West Plains High School Zizzer Choir recently competed in the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Band Music Competition on the Mizzou campus in Columbia.
The choir earned nine gold awards, 11 silver and two bronzes, prompting Activities Director Dr. Ashley Cooley to remark it was “a great showing by our West Plains High School Choir.”
West Plains R-7 School District officials announced that Zizzer Stadium will be closed for turf field replacement from June 2 through Aug. 1.
While work is ongoing, no student or community access will be permitted.
The district will share updates and reopen the facility once the project is completed.
