The West Plains R-7 School District is organizing a smoked rib fundraiser to support the family of longtime high school agriculture teacher Jay Hale as they navigate recent medical expenses. Hale and his family have been an important part of the school community, and this event offers a chance to give back, said district officials.
Community members can purchase a rack of smoked ribs for $25, with all proceeds benefiting the Hales. A total of 400 racks will be sold. Payment is due at the time of pickup, which will be made between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 14 at the high school ag building, 610 E. Olden St.
