Gainesville local graduates from patrol academy

Noah G. Britt, of Gainesville is one of 25 troopers to graduate from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in a ceremony held Friday, announced Col. Eric T. Olson, superintendent of the patrol.

The ceremony took place in the academy gymnasium in Jefferson City. The 113th recruit class reported to the academy Jan. 18 to begin the 25-week training to become a trooper. Britt and the other new troopers will report to duty in their assigned troops July 11.

Tpr. Britt has been assigned to Troop G, Zone 8, which covers Carter and Reynolds counties. The Troop G region also includes Douglas, Howell, Oregon, Ozark, Shannon, Texas and Wright counties.

Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe provided the keynote address for the ceremony and Col. Olson also addressed the class. The Honorable Patricia Breckenridge, Supreme Court of Missouri, administered the oath of office to the new troopers.
