Posted

A 36-year-old Gainesville man died of injuries suffered in a rollover accident late Saturday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Sgt. L.S. Elliott with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported at 10:58 p.m. a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling eastbound on west U.S. 160 ran off the road, struck several trees and overturned. The crash reportedly happened a half-mile east of Gainesville in Ozark County,

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, the report shows.

He was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m. at the scene by Ozark County Coroner Gene Britt.

It is the fifth fatality in the nine-county Troop G area for the year, compared to none at this time in 2024.

The patrol no longer identifies crash victims in its public reports, citing the possibility the information could be used to perpetrate scams against victims.
