The West Plains R-7 School District will begin the 2023-2024 school year Aug. 21 with a full day of classes.

West Plains High School new student enrollment is underway. Enroll students at the District Enrollment Office, 305 Valley View Drive.

Existing student registration is ongoing from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Thursday at West Plains High School.
South Fork Elementary’s preschool and kindergarten open house will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday. First through sixth grade open houses will be held by appointment between noon and 7 p.m. Thursday.
Each classroom teacher will schedule 10- to 15-minute conferences with each student and parent/guardian.
West Plains Elementary will hold A Day In K from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 16. Kindergarten teachers will call families to make an appointment this week.
A walk-in open house will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday for students with a last name initial from A through K, and during the same hours Aug. 17 for students with a last name initial from L through Z.
West Plains Middle School will host a walk-in open house for sixth through eighth grades from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 17. Students and families may pick up schedules on between noon and 7 p.m. Aug. 16 and between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 17.
Fifth grade orientation at West Plains Middle School will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with presentations and tours. The event will focus on helping students make a successful transition from the elementary to the middle school environment. The school will introduce fifth grade teachers, review school policies and procedures, and tour the building and classrooms. Students will be mailed a letter this week with an invitation and more details about the orientation.
Freshman Zizzer Day at West Plains High School for incoming ninth graders will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16. Students will participate in activities that better prepare them for the transition into high school. Incoming freshman students will have the opportunity to go through a mini-schedule, learn about various clubs and activities at the activity fair, have lunch and become familiar with the building, including finding their lockers. School faculty and staff will provide parents with insight to help students and their families prepare for high school.
A walk-In open house for all high school grades will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 17.
