Mission accomplished: Christos House reaches $15K fundraising goal
Christos House has been awarded $10,000 by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) after meeting the challenge of raising $15,000 in Resale Shop sales between July 17 and Aug. 15. "We are grateful for the tremendous support from the community," said Christos House Interim Director Kelli Neel. "Our hardworking staff and volunteers also stepped up to the challenge to surpass our fundraising goal," Neel added. Christos House provides shelter, outreach and support services to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence in Howell, Carter, Texas, Wright, Douglas, Oregon, Ozark and Shannon counties. The nonprofit organization, established in 1985, now has a plan to upgrade and expand its domestic violence shelter in northern Howell County and has been raising funds to further that goal. The Resale Shop, 125 Jefferson Ave. in West Plains, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Call 417-256-3408 for more information.
