Feb. 25 – Grizzly Basketball vs. Moberly Area Community College, 7 p.m., West Plains Civic Center arena.
Feb. 26 – High school music solo and ensemble preview session hosted by the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) music program, 2 to 6 p.m., Melton Hall on the MSU-WP campus. Open to all high school students, both vocal and instrumentalist. Students can sign up for a 15-minute spot and practice their performance on campus in a similar environment as the MSHSAA festival. Feb. 26 – 2025 African American Read In event featuring readings from the award-winning novel “James” by Percival Everett, 6 p.m., OHRC inside the Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St., West Plains. hosted by the OHRC, West Plains Council on the Arts and West Plains Public Library. “James” is a re-imagining of Mark Twain’s novel “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.” Guest presenter is Ozarks historian Vincent Anderson, Mtn. Feb. 28 – Annual welding contest for area high school students hosted by the Workforce Development and Community Education Office at the Pace Industrial Science Center, 218 W. Broadway, West Plains.
