Mtn. View Business of the Month

Posted

CareCenter General Labor, 304 S. Ash St. in Mtn. View, a construction and demolition service attached to CareCenter Ministries Missouri, is the Mtn. View Chamber Business of the Month for September.

CareCenter Ministries Missouri is a branch of CareCenter Ministries of Mtn. Home, which is in turn an offshoot of CareCenter Ministries, first established in 1986 in the Dallas, Texas, area, after a need was seen for a residential Christ-centered substance abuse treatment program, coupled with training in marketable skills in a compassionate environment in order to break the cycle of addiction and the poverty often attached to it.

Other branches operate in Mtn. Home, Ark., Ft. Worth, Texas, and Jackson, Miss. CareCenter Missouri Executive Director and Pastor Blake Atchison successfully completed the program in Mtn. Home in 2016, and as a native of the Springfield and Ava area felt called to provide those services closer to his home.

The for-hire construction business helps fund the treatment program, open to any man either as a self-referral or drug court referral, and is a 501 c3 charity accepting no federal or state funding.

The Mtn. View CareCenter Ministry is located in the former Assembly of God Church and has been in operation a little over a year. The building is owned by the Assembly of God Church of Ava, and has been leased to the organization for $1 over five years. It has been outfitted with private quarters for residents, and is currently housing 10 men.

There are two supervised work crews that can be hired for demolition, clean up, painting, or construction. The program lasts one year, and there have been two program graduates, with three more expected to graduate in the next few months.

Participation in the program is on a voluntary basis. To submit an application for treatment, or to learn more about the organization, visit their Facebook page at CareCenter – Missouri or their webpage at carecentermissouri.org. To hire a crew, call 417-686-1278 or 417-766-2950.
