The final vote repealing an ordinance requiring motorcycle helmets to be worn by all motorcycle drivers and riders within the city was taken at the Jan. 10 meeting of the Mtn. View City Council, the vote passing with all in favor. The removal of the ordinance puts city laws in line with state statutes; statewide, the law was put into effect in August 2020, and gives motorcyclists age 26 and older the option of not wearing a helmet without being ticketed.
