Rep. David Evans announces retirement from politics
Recently, 154th District Rep. David Evans, West Plains, was caught smiling in appreciation of the Missouri House’s vote to approve House Bill 1486, authorizing, for the first time, state funding of voluntary kindergarten and prekindergarten programs by local schools. He is seen here watching the House voting board showing final vote totals. “It’s great to see the state supporting programs that will help our kids build a better future for all Missourians,” said Evans. Evans has announced his retirement effective the end of this year, and said he is withdrawing his candidacy for reelection. To date, no other candidates from any party have filed for the seat; interested candidates have until 5 p.m. March 26 to file.
