It’s almost time for the school busses to start rolling, and Summersville Library is again collecting new school supplies to be given to Summersville School for students.
A supply list is posted at the library, and school supplies may be dropped off in the bin at the circulation desk. We’ll see they are delivered to the school by opening day. Every little bit helps our kids!

Jackson; I Am; Walking Tall Trilogy starring Joe Don Baker; The Incredible Mr. Limpet, animated starring Don Knotts; and Flaming Star starring Elvis Presley.
New books include The Undertaker’s Daughter, Sara Blaedel; Golden Girl, Elin Hilderbrand; Wings of Fire, juvenile, Tui Sutherland; Loving Liza Jane, Sharlene MacLaren and Against All Odds, Irene Hannon, both Christian fiction; and Undercover Epicenter Nurse, Erin Marie Olszewski, BSN, RN; How To Play Guitar, Roger Evans and Agent Under Fire: A Murder and a Manifesto, Victor Avila, all non-fiction.
New Summer Hours are in force for all Texas County Library branches. The branches have extended hours to be open until 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer.
Masks are now optional inside the library! Please feel free to wear one if that’s your choice, but it’s no longer mandatory at any Texas County Library branch.
The Summersville Friends of the Library meet the second Monday of the month at 5 p.m. inside Summersville Library. The next meeting is scheduled for September 13.
There’s never a charge for library activities, thanks to the Friends and Texas County Library, but you can show your appreciation by attending the Friends’ monthly meetings and being a part of this service to our community.
