At 1:48 p.m. July 6 Officer Kevin White was dispatched to the 500 blocks of W Broadway Street for a report of fraud. Upon Officer White’s investigation, he found a male claiming to be with Renos Management out of North Carolina who used fake cards to purchase several thousands of dollars worth of Toners. The report was completed and forwarded to the Detectives Division for further investigation.
At around 2:58 p.m. July 6 Officer Paul Bradshaw made contact with a male at the Police Department who had an active warrant. The male was placed into custody and posted bond. At the time of the report, no charges were pending in the incident.
At about 3:14 p.m. July 6 Civilian DO Tessa Jens transported one male subject from Koshkonong, Mo. to the West Plains Police Department on one active Failure to Appear warrant out of the West Plains Police Department. Upon arrival to the West Plains Police Department, at about 3:40 p.m., the male subject was unable to post bond and was booked into the West Plains Jail Facility.
At about 3:20 p.m. July 6 officers responded to a report of an assault in the area of 700 block of West Main Street. Upon further investigation it was determined that none of the involved parties wished to pursue charges. A report was completed for documentation purposes. Corporal Joshua Wichowski.
At about 9:43 p.m. July 6 Officer Brent McKemie was dispatched to the 2000 block of State Route K in West Plains, Missouri, in reference to a harassment incident. It was learned that a male subject was making death threats to a female subject. Charges were being sought at the time of this report.
At 9:51 p.m. July 6 it was reported that, that day, officers were dispatched to the West Plains Police Department for a walk-in report of a court order violation. After further investigation it was determined that no violation occurred. This is an informational report only. Officer Chris Barrett.
At about 2:57 a.m. July 7 a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of US Highway 63 and State Route 17 in West Plains, Missouri. During the course of the traffic stop it was discovered that the individual operating the vehicle has a suspended driver’s license. The individual was issued a citation with a later court date and released from the traffic stop. Officer Colter Reid.
At about 7:41 a.m. July 7 officers were dispatched for a theft located in the 1300 block of Garrett Street in West Plains, Howell County, Missouri. The victim reported that her wallet had been stolen from her vehicle. At the time of this report, the case was still under investigation. Officer Conner Burnes.

At 8:18 a.m. July 7 it was reported that, that day, a female came to the West Plains Police Department to speak with an officer about an online issue. A report was taken. Officer Tatum Whitsell.
At 9:07 a.m. July 7 it was reported that, that day, the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI-Springfield, and the West Plains Police Department executed a residential search warrant in the 1200 block of Lanton Road in West Plains, Howell County, Missouri, concerning the Sexual Exploitation of Children. Several items capable of storing digital media were seized as evidence and, at the time of this report, charges were pending the completion of digital forensics. Detective Joe Neuschwander.
At 10:17 a.m. July 7 it was reported that, that day, 2021 officers were dispatched to 302 Walnut Street to the Walnut Grove Apartments located inside of the city limits of West Plains, Howell County, Missouri for a report of a lost wallet. A report was taken. Officer Tatum Whitsell.
At 12:09 p.m. July 7 it was reported that, that day, the Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI-Springfield, and the West Plains Police Department executed a residential search warrant in the 400 block of South Hill Street in West Plains, Howell County, Missouri, concerning the Sexual Exploitation of Children. Several items capable of storing digital media were seized as evidence and, at the time of this report, charges were pending the completion of digital forensics. Detective Joe Neuschwander.
At 12:36 p.m. July 7 it was reported that, that day, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 1000 block of Davidson Street for the report of a person not breathing. Upon investigation by officers the person was determined to be deceased. The Coroner was contacted and ruled the death of the person to be of natural causes. The body of the deceased was left in the care of Carter Funeral Home. Officer Trent Kinder.
At around 3:00 p.m. July 7 Officer Paul Bradshaw spoke with a male in the Police Department in reference to a burglary. Evidence was collected and a list of stolen items was obtained. At the time of this report, there were no listed suspects, and the matter was to be forwarded to the investigations division for further investigation.
At around 6:18 p.m. July 7 Officer Paul Bradshaw investigated an incident on the 500 block of Joe Jones Boulevard in West Plains. Children’s Division was contacted to assist and a diversion was completed. At the time of this report, the matter remained under further investigation.
