INCIDENTS
At about 6:39 p.m. July 7 Sergeant Kyle Parrish responded to the 2400 block of McFarland Drive in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon investigation it was determined that a male and female subject reportedly engaged in a physical altercation. Neither party had visible injuries and they declined medical treatment. At the time of this report, the matter was considered closed.
At about 8:59 p.m. July 7 Sergeant Kyle Parrish attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a gray motorcycle on US Hwy 63 near Wayhaven Dr. The male driver fled the traffic stop on the motorcycle. During the investigation the male subject was identified and, at the time of this report, a warrant for his arrest was to be applied for through the West Plains Municipal Court.
At about 10:33 p.m. July 7 Corporal Joshua Wichowski responded to the area of the West Plains Civic Center located at 110 Saint Louis Street in West Plains, Mo., 65775 for a report of a building alarm. Upon further investigation it was determined that two male juvenile suspects had entered into the building after hours and attempted to resist arrest by fleeing from law enforcement officers. Both suspects were apprehended a short time later and placed under lawful arrest. At the time of this report, formal charges were pending for criminal trespassing and resisting arrest through the juvenile courts.
At about 10:49 p.m. July 7 Officer Chris Barrett received a call of an individual whose vehicle left the roadway. Officer Barrett made contact with the subject and she was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The subject was later released with citations.
At 9:53 a.m. July 8 it was reported that, that day, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle which led to the discovery of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was issued multiple citations and released. Corporal Brandon Stephens.
At 10:42 a.m. July 8 it was reported that, that day, a traffic stop was conducted at a residence on the 800 block of Missouri Ave. Upon investigation a controlled substance was discovered inside the vehicle. The substance was collected and, at the time of this report, was to be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol lab for analysis. Charges were pending at the time of this report. At about 12:59 p.m. July 8 officers were dispatched for a theft located in the 1300 block of Mitchell Rd. in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. It was reported that someone had stolen the catalytic converter off of the subject’s vehicle. At the time of this report, this case was still under investigation. Officer Conner Burnes.

At 4:07 p.m. July 8 Officer Kevin White was dispatched to 130 N Howell (Get-N-Go) convenience store for a report of a male who had pulled a knife on another male. Upon Officer White’s investigation, he found that a male who was identified and fled the scene had messed with the victim’s truck by stealing a valve stem cap. The suspect, when confronted, brandished a machete that was in the waist of his pants. The victim was leaving when the suspect exchanged some words with him as he was passing a residence he was at. The victim pulled into a parking lot across from the residence and called the Police Department where the suspect confronted him and threatened to cut him as he swung the machete at the victim several times before fleeing into a residence on Dixon St. and then out of the kitchen window. At the time of this report, charges were to be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney for review.
At about 4:03 p.m. July 8 a traffic stop was conducted in the area of Olive St. on a vehicle for a failure to signal violation. Upon further investigation the driver of the vehicle was found to have a revoked driver’s license and an active felony warrant out of Howell County, Mo. The male subject was later arrested and transported to the Howell County Jail and issued citations for Driving While Revoked. Formal charges were pending at the time of this report in reference to this investigation through the West Plains Municipal Courts. Corporal Joshua Wichowski.
At 5:21 p.m. July 8 Officer Kevin White was dispatched to the 900 block of Bratton Ave. for a report of a burglary, not in progress. Upon Officer White’s investigation, he found that someone had broken into the building and stolen several tools after breaking into the toolbox. The unknown suspect also stole some model cars. At the time of this report, no suspect had been identified, and the investigation was ongoing.
At 6:10 p.m. July 8 Officer Kevin White was dispatched to 1310 Preacher Roe row 8 (Walmart Supercenter) for a report of a private property accident. Upon Officer White’s investigation, he found that a blue colored Dodge Durango operated by an unknown white female backed into the victim’s Ford Flex while leaving, causing damage to the right rear bumper. The suspect then left without attempting to make contact with the victim. At the time of this report, this report was to remain under investigation.
5:48 p.m. July 8 it was reported that on July 6 officers were dispatched to the Police Department for a report of a male pointing a gun at another male on Creamery Rd. in West Plains, Mo. for matters involving a child custody dispute. After further investigation, no charges were filed due to the victim declining charges. Officer Chris Barrett.
At 6:55 p.m. July 8 Officer Kevin White was dispatched to the 1000 block of W 1st St. for a report of property damage. Upon Officer White’s investigation he found that, between 7 p.m. July 6 and 6:55 p.m. July 8, an unknown suspect had thrown rocks through three windows causing about $600 worth of damage. The report was completed and, at the time of this report, was under investigation.
At about 9:55 p.m. July 8 Corporal Joshua Wichowski responded to the residence of 904 Lincoln Avenue for a report of trespassing. All subjects were found to be gone upon arrival. A report was completed for documentation purposes.
