INCIDENTS
At about 12:13 a.m. July 9 Officer Aaron Galiher responded to 2055 State Route K #63 to investigate the report of an attempted theft. During the course of the investigation a male subject was discovered to have an active warrant for his arrest from the Texas County Sheriff’s Office. The male was taken into custody.
At 7:26 a.m. July 9 it was reported that, that day, officers were dispatched to a business on the 500 block of Porter Wagoner Blvd. for the report of a female screaming. Upon investigation by officers a male was arrested and transported to the West Plains Jail. At the time of this report, the male had been placed on a 24 Hour Hold pending formal charges for assault. At 10:02 a.m. July 9 it was reported that, that day, contact was made with a male on 8th St. who was found to have an active Probation/Parole warrant. The male was arrested and transported to the Howell County Jail where he was booked in. Officer Trent Kinder.
At about 11:44 a.m. July 9 officers were dispatched for a report of property damage located in the 1100 block of W Broadway St. in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. It was reported that someone had spray painted and damaged a building. At the time of this report, the case was still under investigation. Officer Conner Burnes.
At about 12:55 p.m. July 9 a traffic stop was conducted on W Broadway St. near Garfield Ave. in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. The driver of the vehicle was issued citations for failure to comply with ignition interlock requirements, failure to show proof of insurance, driving while suspended, and failure to stop on a red signal. At the time of this report, this case was to be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office. Officer Conner Burnes.
At about 3:03 p.m. July 9 Officer Brent McKemie was dispatched to the 1200 block of Lambert Lane in West Plains, Howell County, Mo., in reference to a deceased female subject. It was believed that the female subject died from natural causes. No further investigation was expected at the time of this report.
At 6:24 p.m. July 9 it was reported that, that day, Corporal Wes Stuart took a report of property damage that occurred at 1710 Porter Wagoner Blvd. The reporting party advised that an unknown individual was able to make entry into his locked vehicle and attempt to steal his stereo system. The vehicle’s lock and portions of the dash were damaged, but the stereo was not taken during the incident. At the time of this report, the case was still under investigation.
At 9:30 a.m. July 10 it was reported that, that day, a male came into the Police Department and advised that he had located the wallet belonging to a subject as it was laying in the road on Holiday Lane. At the time of this report, the wallet had been placed into evidence for safekeeping. Corporal Brandon Stephens.
At about 11:35 a.m. July 10 officers were dispatched for a burglary located in the 800 block of Missouri Avenue in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. It was reported that someone had stolen several items from a residence. At the time of this report, the case was still under investigation. Officer Conner Burnes.
At about 3:34 p.m. July 10 Officer Brent McKemie was dispatched to the 1300 block of Preacher Roe Blvd. in West Plains, Mo., in reference to a stealing incident. It was learned that a Reese Hitch was stolen from someone’s vehicle. At the time of this report, the case was inactive due to lack of evidence.

At about 7:09 p.m. July 10 Officer Brent McKemie was dispatched to the 1800 block of State Route K and U.S. Highway 63 in West Plains, Mo., in reference to a motor vehicle collision. It was learned that a driver involved had a blank operator’s license, and he was cited for the offense. No parties involved sustained any apparent injuries.
At 8:59 p.m. July 10 it was reported that, that day, officers responded to the 1300 block of Southern Hills Center for a business alarm. Upon arrival a door was found to have been blown open by extreme weather. The building was secured by officers and a key holder. There did not appear to be any foul play associated with the alarm, and at the time of this report this incident had been closed. Corporal Wes Stuart.
At 9:24 p.m. July 10 Officer Kevin White was dispatched to the area of Washington Avenue near the Avenue Theatre for a dumpster rolling down the street, striking vehicles. Upon Officer White’s investigation he found that a West Plains City Dumpster leased to an unknown business had rolled down Washington Avenue during the severe weather, striking at least two vehicles, causing damage to a tail light on one vehicle and damage to a bumper and a spoiler on another vehicle. A report was completed for property damage, nothing further.
At 10:20 p.m. July 10 it was reported that, that day, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Amyx St. located in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. for a report of a runaway juvenile. A report was taken and, at the time of this report, the juvenile had been entered into the system as missing. Officer Tatum Whitsell.
At about 9:33 a.m. July 11 Corporal Joshua Wichowski responded to a residence in the 400 block of Maple St. for a report of property damage. Upon further investigation a suspect was identified and a report was completed. At the time of this report, this incident remained Active and Open for further investigation.
At about 1:17 p.m. July 11 officers were dispatched for three runaway juveniles located in the 3400 block of Division Drive in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. It was reported that three juveniles had left, refusing to return. At the time of this report, this case was still under investigation. Officer Conner Burnes.
At 3:45 p.m. July 11 officers were dispatched to 1310 Preacher Roe Blvd. (Walmart Supercenter) for a report of a vehicle that had been hit by another car in the parking lot while the owner was in the store. A report was taken. Officer Tatum Whitsell.
At about 4:58 p.m. July 11 Officer Colter Reid responded to the 700 block of Washington Avenue in West Plains, Mo. in reference to a report of stealing. The suspects were located and issued Complaint Citations with a later court date. At the time of this report, the case was considered closed.
At about 5:14 p.m. July 11 officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Howard Avenue in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. for a report of a suicidal female. The female was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Officer Tatum Whitsell.
At about 7:01 p.m. July 11 officers were dispatched to the area of Division Drive located in West Plains, Howell County, Mo. for a report of two juveniles who had run away from Adolescent Rise Rehabilitation Facility. A report was taken and the juveniles were located a short time later. Officer Tatum Whitsell.
At about 8:00 a.m. July 12 Officer Colter Reid responded to the 1100 block of Renfrow St. in West Plains, Mo., in reference to a report of theft from a motor vehicle. Through further investigation it was discovered that a firearm had been stolen from the vehicle. At the time of this report, the case remained active and open pending further investigation.
