West Plains Schools Athletic Department would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Zizzer Athletic Booster Club (ZABC) for their incredible support during last week's Class 4 District 1 Volleyball Championship at Farmington High School! Thanks to the ZABC, three pep buses were sponsored, allowing 77 enthusiastic Middle and High School students, along with their sponsors, to attend the big game. The students enjoyed not only the thrill of cheering on their team but were also treated to a meal, free admission, and snacks, all courtesy of the ZABC. Thank you, ZABC, for making this unforgettable experience possible for our students! more

Halloween brought a special treat to the kids of South Fork Elementary as members of the West Plains High School Zizzers football team stopped by for a memorable day of pumpkin carving. In the spirit of community and teamwork, the Zizzers joined South Fork’s third through sixth graders for an afternoon of creativity, laughter, and plenty of pumpkin pulp. more
In a Friday night high school football showdown filled with intensity and resilience, the West Plains Zizzers edged out a dramatic 34-27 win over long-time rivals Carl Junction at Zizzer Stadium. Both teams came prepared, with Carl Junction immediately seizing momentum, taking the kickoff to the Zizzers’ 19-yard line and quickly scoring a touchdown for a 7-0 lead. The Zizzers’ first offensive series ended in a punt, but their defense began to find its rhythm. Key tackles from Ethan Miller, Jackson Taylor, and Jaxon Hunter held Carl Junction to a field goal, widening the gap to 10-0. more
The West Plains Zizzers Swim Team made school history Tuesday night, claiming their first-ever conference championship at the inaugural Ozark Mountain Conference meet held at the John H. Foster Natatorium in Springfield. After back-to-back championships by the Lady Zizzers, it was finally the boys’ turn to bring home the title, and they did it in style, edging out Hillcrest by a mere 10 points to seal the deal with a final score of 218-208. Logan-Rogersville came in third with 150 points. more
The Zizzer Cross Country team made history this past Saturday, competing in the first-ever Ozark Mountain Conference (OMC) meet in Bolivar, MO, and walking away as both Boys and Girls OMC Champions! It was a day filled with excitement, hard work, and triumph as the Zizzers dominated the course and showed why they’re the best in the conference. more

Friday night, the West Plains Zizzers traveled to Poplar Bluff and battled it out in an epic showdown against the Mules that left fans on the edge of their seats. After a nail-biting back-and-forth game, the Zizzers walked away with an overtime win, 35-28. It was a game filled with grit, determination, and some clutch plays that sealed the victory. more
Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat. I'm aging myself there with that classic Halloween chant but I can still remember the excitement of hitting up houses for candy. And that annual event hasn't changed much over the years but the candy has, especially in size.  In my search for fall treats for our annual fall gathering, I wanted something I could bag up for kids of all ages. I found just that, this old favorite got a pumpkin spice upgrade, which is perfect for what I want.  It's easy to make and simple as can be plus you can switch out the candy to your liking.  Who says Halloween is for kids, adults need treats too and this Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix will go quickly so make a double batch and hide some for yourself.  more
Last Friday night, under the bright lights of Zizzer Stadium, the West Plains Zizzers went head-to-head with the Bolivar Liberators in a matchup that had all the makings of a classic gridiron showdown. However, despite a valiant effort from the home team, the Zizzers fell short, with a final score of 3-20 in favor of Bolivar. The Zizzers fought until the last whistle, but the Liberators’ defense and timely big plays proved too much to overcome. more

The stands were filled with cheers and warm applause, as friends, family, and fans showed their appreciation for the contributions of these standout seniors. more
Last night, the West Plains Zizzers hosted a very special event at Zizzer Stadium—Military Appreciation Night, honoring the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. military. With the patriotic spirit in full swing, fans arrived early as gates opened at 5:30 p.m., and by 6 p.m., the celebration was underway. more

The West Plains Country Club was buzzing with excitement on Monday as the annual Edna Boyer Girls Golf Tournament brought together schools from all over the region. Teams from West Plains, Seymour, Mountain View-Liberty, Sparta, Mansfield, Bakersfield, and Lutie teed off for 18 challenging holes, honoring a legacy that runs deep in the community. more
