The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is teaming up with the Kansas City Chiefs to encourage football fans to give back at an upcoming Mtn. View community blood drive on Nov. 6.
The drive will be held from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the community room at the Mtn. View Community Center, 125 E. First St.
All successful donors will receive a long-sleeved Kansas City Chiefs T-shirt while supplies last. Donors will also be automatically entered into a drawing for a tailgate prize package valued at more than $1,400. The prize includes a $250 Walmart gift card, a YETI cooler, a Blackstone tabletop grill and Chiefs merchandise.
Blood collected by CBCO is the sole supply for more than 40 area hospitals, including Mercy St. Francis Hospital, officials pointed out.
“Every blood donation is an opportunity to step up for someone in our community who may need a transfusion,” said Michelle Teter, CBCO media relations representative. “The Chiefs promotion gives donors a fun way to go the extra yard this season, but the real impact is knowing your donation could be there when a local patient needs it.”
Appointments are strongly encouraged to avoid wait times. To schedule an appointment, visit www.cbco.org/chiefs or call 417-227-5006.
Donors are required to provide photo identification and are encouraged to eat well and drink plenty of fluids before donating.
