Mtn. View Healthcare recently qualified for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ new Risk-Based Survey Program, an achievement reached by less than 5% of certified nursing homes in Missouri.
The designation, commonly referred to as the Gold Trophy award, allows qualifying facilities to display a gold trophy from CMS. The federal agency implemented the new program on Oct. 8.
Only 4.7% of certified nursing homes in the state — 23 out of 487 — qualified for the distinction. Mtn. View Healthcare is a nonprofit skilled nursing facility owned and operated by Willow Health Care.
The facility celebrated the achievement with a special event for employees on Oct. 20.
“Quality of care doesn’t happen by accident,” said Emily Counts, CEO of Willow Health Care. “It takes teamwork, compassion and a shared commitment to excellence. We are extremely proud to see this dedication recognized by CMS.”
Counts noted the facility has long been a CMS-recognized five-star home, adding that Administrator George Colbert has done an excellent job leading his team.
“Nothing that is worth doing is easy,” Colbert said. “The managers and the staff have been very diligent in meeting the needs of our residents, and the quality measure scores reflect their hard work and dedication. It is a pleasure to lead such a great group of caregivers.”
Mtn. View Healthcare provides rehabilitation, long-term care, respite care and outpatient therapy, along with assisted and independent living options.
