The owner of Main Street Wellness in Willow Springs was seriously injured Friday evening in a motorcycle collision that left both vehicles engulfed in flames along U.S. 160.

Dr. Ann Hines, 54, was riding an eastbound 2002 Suzuki SV650 when she lost control on loose gravel while entering the roadway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Patrol Cpl. D.E. Rogers reported the motorcycle struck an eastbound 2021 Kenworth T680 commercial truck. Multiple photos shared across social media platforms showed the truck was operated for Convoy of Hope. The impact threw Hines from the motorcycle, which then became lodged underneath the semi-truck, causing both vehicles to catch fire, Rogers reported.

The crash occurred at about 5:45 p.m. Friday on U.S. 160, two miles west of Willow Springs.

Hines, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by air ambulance to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of serious injuries, the report shows.

No injuries were reported for the semi driver, a 79-year-old man from Marshfield.

On Saturday, Main Street Wellness shared an update on Hines’ condition to its Facebook page, stating she did not suffer broken bones but sustained a knee injury and several deep lacerations that will require extended recovery time.

Clinic staff noted that as Hines focuses on recovery, the wellness center will contact clients with upcoming appointments to discuss scheduling and care options.

Rogers was assisted in the crash investigation by Cpl. M.T. Weakley, Sgt. D.A. Huffman, Lt. J.A. Blair and Trooper A.T. Sigman of Troop G, headquartered in Willow Springs.
