A Willow Springs resident who was sentenced to five years in prison after a second-degree assault plea in 2020 has been charged with three felonies after allegedly making a bomb threat, causing an alert to be sent out to law enforcement agencies and Willow Springs Elementary School.

WILLOW SPRINGS — Under clear blue skies with a cooling breeze Willow Springs celebrated its 51st annual Bear City Fall Festival on Sept. 4. The event, coordinated by the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce, drew hundreds that came to see vintage automobiles, hear live music, enter a wide variety of contests and shop at dozens of vendor booths.

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative has announced that CEO/General Manager Dan Singletary will retire effective Jan. 2, 2026, concluding a 40-year career with the cooperative. The HOEC Board of Directors has named Aaron Wheeler, the current assistant manager and a 19-year employee, as his successor.
