Posted

The 10th annual Ozarktoberfest fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater West Plains, is set for 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of East Towne Village Shopping Center on Bill Virdon Boulevard, West Plains.

Hosted by Wages Brewing Company, the event will feature live music by King Size, a bluegrass band from Springfield.

Admission is $25 and includes souvenirs taster glasses, the ability to sample 25-plus beers from Wages, other Missouri breweries and Germany, plus seven German wines. Children and those not partaking in the tasting will be admitted free, and children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The annual masskrugstemmen, a mug-holding competition of endurance, will once again be held, and several vendors, including at least three offering food, will be onsite.

The event has raised thousands of dollars for the Boys & Girls Club since its inception, and last year, its first year back after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it raised $550 for the program.
