The annual Brazeal family reunion was held June 7 in the Koshkonong School all-purpose room. Family members and friends gathered for a potluck lunch, with five generations of the Brazeal family represented, including, from left, Joann Jackson, Lauren Parker holding Matthew Parker, Evan Parker, William Downing, Gaitha Downing, Tyler Crabtree, Evelyn Crabtree, Nadean Green, Raeshel Parker, Barry Green and Sam Parker. zIn all, 60 people attended, traveling from communities near and far to continue a tradition shared by many members of the family. The day included laughter, memories and family photos, and those unable to attend were missed, said family member Janelle Green, who shared this photo with the Quill. “Saint Paisios of Mount Athos once described the family as a small church — and the Brazeal reunion is a living testament to that truth,” she said. Those wishing to receive updates about next year’s reunion may email Green at blujuly@gmail.com or Gaitha Downing at countrynurse98@gmail.com. The next reunion is planned for June 6, 2027.
