5 hurt in recent area crashes

Two Birch Tree women suffered moderate injuries when their pickup truck ran off Dry Creek Road at 1:52 p.m. Sunday, about 2 miles north of Birch Tree in Shannon County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Cpl. M. Barron, Troop G of the Patrol, Willow Springs, reported a westbound 1999 Dodge Ram driven by Sharon M. Henson, 61, and carrying passenger Jeani M. Calhoun, 38, ran off the right side of the road and overturned. Henson reportedly wore a seat belt, while Calhoun did not. Both women were taken by ambulance to Mercy St. Francis Hospital in Mtn. View, the report shows.

Barron was assisted at the scene by the Birch Tree Fire Department, Shannon County Sheriff’s Office and patrol Cpl. D.E. Rogers.

A teen from Licking suffered moderate injuries in an ATV crash at 5:10 p.m. Thursday on Horseshoe Drive, 4 miles north of Houston in Texas County.

Cpl. J.R. Sellars reported an eastbound 2017 Honda Rancher ATV driven by a 16-year-old boy failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the right side of the road, into a tree.

The teen was not wearing a helmet and was taken by private vehicle to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston for treatment, the report shows.

The teen was not identified in patrol reports because he is a minor.

Two Arkansas residents were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:44 p.m. Wednesday on west U.S. 160 just north of JJ Highway.

Tpr. C.A. Edens reported a southbound 2008 Dodge Caravan driven by Linda H. Harring, 59, West Plains, failed to yield and struck a northbound 2020 Dodge Challenger driven by Michael P. Reich, 61, Mtn. Home, Ark.

Michael Reich and passenger Joy Reich, 54, also of Mtn. Home, were wearing seat belts and were taken by South Howell County Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Edens reported.

Harring was also wearing a seat belt and was taken by South Howell County Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment of moderate injuries, the report shows.
