The West Plains community will gather to raise funds for cancer research during the seventh annual West Plains Rides for Pedal the Cause cycling event Oct. 10.
The ride will begin at 8 a.m. at the West Plains High School parking lot off of North Howell Avenue. Riders of all skill levels are invited to participate in the fundraiser, which organizers describe as a “movement to create a world without cancer.”
Every mile ridden and dollar raised goes toward advancing cancer research and supporting families in the region. The event is backed by leading sponsors Leonardo DRS, Community First Banking Company and Edward Jones, along with 15 additional local business sponsors.
Community members are encouraged to ride, cheer on participants or volunteer. For more information on rider registration or volunteer opportunities, visit the "West Plains Rides for Pedal the Cause" Facebook group.
Participants may also sign up online by going to www.bikesignup.com, clicking the “Find a Race” button at the top of the page, and searching for West Plains.
