ALTON — Alton Elementary School students had a special lineup of servers for lunch after meeting benchmarks during a recent St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fundraiser that netted $10,630 for the nonprofit. The “pretty maids” behind the counter, all in a row, are, from left: School Resource Officer Grey Huddleston, Alton High School Principal Jason Andrews, special education teacher Aaron Wright, fifth grade teacher Gabe Trobaugh, cook Patty Rich, paraprofessional Christian Orr, and K-Kountry 95 radio personality Mike Crase. Students met other challenges that earned them rewards: At $2,000 each of them got ice cream, at $5,000 the principal had to kiss a pig and at the $10,000 mark, some of the male school officials kept their promise to don French maid outfits to serve up barbecue pulled pork sandwiches.
