Baxter Health Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark., has updated its patient care technology with new IV pumps, complete with additional safety features, following a donation from an anonymous local resident, officials announced.
Representatives from Baxter Healthcare Corporation recently visited the hospital campus to provide hands-on training to the nursing staff.
Chief Nursing Officer Erika Sneed said the upgraded equipment is part of the facility's ongoing effort to improve patient care.
"Updated IV pumps improve accuracy and usability,” Sneed said. “These are the same devices used in large health care systems, so our patients — while enjoying all the advantages of living in a rural area — are able to receive high-quality care with the assistance of state-of-the-art technology."
She added, "We're grateful to donors who recognize the value of our rural hospital and continue to support our work with these generous donations.”
Following the completion of staff training, the new pumps have been deployed in patient rooms.
