May 14 (6 p.m.) “What Rock Buildings Say About the People of the Ozarks” presented by Barbara Williams, hosted by Ozark Heritage Research Center (OHRC) at the MSU-West Plains Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St.

June 11 (6 p.m.) An Oral History of West Plains by Traditional Storyteller Danette House, hosted by OHRC, Garnett Library.

May 17-18 (5-10 p.m.) “Give Local First” Kansas City Barbeque Festival sanctioned event of the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Includes competition, battle of the bands, live music, vendors and more, Heart of the Ozarks Fairgrounds.

June 2 (12-5 p.m.) & June 3 (8 a.m.-12 p.m.) entry days for Heart of the Ozarks Fair, including art and photography exhibits.
