A 41-year-old Centerville man suffered fatal injuries in a crash at 9:38 a.m. Monday on Highway 21, a half-mile south of Centerville in Reynolds County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Tpr. C.M. Dougherty, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a southbound 2014 Ford Mustang driven by an 18-year-old Centerville man lost control, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
The 41-year-old passenger was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:30 a.m. by Reynolds County Coroner Jeff McSpadden.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken by aircraft to Mercy South in St. Louis for treatment, the report shows. A second passenger, a 16-year-old Ellington boy, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Children's Hospital in St. Louis. Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol.
The death marks the 11th traffic fatality for the year in the nine-county Troop G area, compared to 12 at this time in 2025. Dougherty was assisted at the scene by Tpr. K.H. Hall.
