The Howell County Commission appointed a board member to the Howell County Health Department Board of Directors during its regular session Thursday morning.
Commissioners appointed Mary Anne Vaughn to the health department board to fill a vacant seat to be held by a representative of Mtn. View.
“It took a few months to find someone,” said Presiding Commissioner Mark Collins. “We contacted several people, but no one was interested in doing it — people didn’t have the time or interest in participating.”
Vaughn, a retired nurse practitioner, attended last week’s commission meeting and will represent Mtn. View on the county board, Collins said.
