Credit union pays off Pomona couple’s vehicle loan
Billy and Jessica Vanderbilt of Pomona, center, celebrate amid falling confetti after learning Ozark Federal Credit Union paid off their vehicle loan in full. The Aug. 6 surprise at OFCU's main branch in Poplar Bluff concluded the credit union's first "Big Loan Lift Off" promotion. Billy Vanderbilt, an OFCU member for three years, was randomly selected from more than 5,000 eligible entries. The initiative automatically entered members with qualifying auto and personal loans for a chance to win up to $10,000 toward their balance. "I was shocked because I didn’t even know about the contest," Billy Vanderbilt said in a press release. "What a blessing.” OFCU President and CEO Chad Wolfram noted the promotion is a way to improve members' financial health, adding that the credit union plans to host another drawing in December.
