Deadline extended for WP Eclipse keepsake book submissions

Posted

The total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024, has left those in its path with memories that will last a lifetime, and the West Plains Daily Quill is capturing those moments in a special book commemorating the celestial event. Monday’s eclipse drew eyes upwards and brought communities together, creating experiences that will be remembered for generations to come.

The Quill's upcoming publication will showcase the highlights of the four-day Party in the Path celebration, a festival of unity under the shadow of the moon, along with photos captured in neighboring communities. Featuring a rich collection of photographs and stories from the Quill staff, locals and visitors, the book looks to be a vibrant keepsake of collective awe and joy.

It is not too late: Due to enthusiastic response, the deadline for submissions has been extended and readers can now submit photos for inclusion through 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 16. There is no limit to how many photos may be submitted, however due to space limitations, the Quill cannot promise to use every submission. Photos should include a sentence or two describing when and where the photo was snapped, and giving the names of the people in the photo, if fewer than 12 people. Send submissions by email to news@wpdailyquill.net with the subject line ECLIPSE KEEPSAKE, or bring them by the office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at 205 Washington Ave.

Readers can expect to relive the magic of the celestial marvel through pages filled with the energy of the celebration, the quiet moments of anticipation, the gasps of wonder at totality and the communal spirit that the eclipse engendered. From the preparation to the eclipse's breathtaking climax, every aspect will be covered, offering a panoramic view of this unforgettable event.

This unique book will be available as an insert in the West Plains Gazette, printed on crisp, white paper for those desiring a tangible reminder of the day the sun disappeared. Additionally, a high-quality, full-gloss edition will be offered for purchase, perfect for those looking to keep a piece of history in pristine condition.

For local businesses, this publication also presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of history. Advertising in this special book means immortalizing your brand within the story of a celestial phenomenon that brought the world together, if only for a few minutes of darkness.

The Total Eclipse of 2024 book by the West Plains Daily Quill isn't just a collection of photographs and stories — it's a bridge to a moment in time in which the universe reminded us of our place in the cosmos.
