More than 200 participants and nearly 30 volunteers recently gathered across two communities
for a coordinated day of inclusion, acceptance and community support.
Children’s Behavioral Services (CBS) hosted its annual Autism Color Run/Walk events April 18
in West Plains and Willow Springs. The dual events brought together over 200 participants and
successfully raised $4,000 to benefit regional youth organizations.
Following the community response, CBS announced that $2,000 donations will be delivered to
both the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater West Plains Area and Willow Springs Charitable
Events.
"Events like the Autism Color Run are a great way for us to get to know our communities, show
our heart, and support children," said Logan Waggoner, director of marketing and public
relations at Children's Behavioral Services. "This event represents awareness, and the funds
raised represent continued support for children and families."
The morning block began in Willow Springs, where runners and walkers met near the city pool.
Volunteers and cheerleaders lined the course along Old Rolla Road to douse participants with
vibrant colored powders at designated milestone stations.
The second leg of the benefit event moved to West Plains, starting at the CBS clinic across from
the West Plains Civic Center. Participants navigated a downtown course lined with sponsor
recognition booths and volunteer stations.
"Our goal is to make children of all abilities feel supported and connected, and we're so grateful
to bring two communities together for something like this," Waggoner added.
Based in south-central Missouri, Children's Behavioral Services specializes in developmental
