Eminence resident sworn in as newest CASA volunteer
The 37th Judicial Circuit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) organization has a new volunteer, Harvey Haynes, left, sworn in Jan. 29 by Presiding 37th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Steven Privette. Haynes is from Eminence in Shannon County, one of three counties in the circuit in addition to Howell and Oregon. CASA volunteers assist children that have been placed in state care and are the subject of active court proceedings by attending hearings, keeping related records, and objectively analyzing and reporting findings in court in the best interest of the advocated-for child. The goal of CASA volunteers are to help give neglected and abused children a voice in proceedings that directly impact their living situations. To become a CASA volunteer, call 417-255-2100, or for more information visit the CASA website at 37thcasa.net.
