FCC Behavioral Health installs recycled bench from Sears Youth Center
FCC Behavioral Health recently purchased a bench from the Sears Youth Center in Poplar Bluff and installed it at the Turning Leaf addiction treatment center off Lanton Road. The W.E. Sears Youth Center is state-run facility designed to help at-risk youth achieve educational and vocational goals. As part of the program, participants collect plastic bottle caps, which are then used to manufacture the benches. Proceeds from the bench sales go toward special youth events, such as Christmas parties, a fall festival and fishing trips, as well as other community needs. The benches are manufactured by Green Tree Plastics of Evansville, Ind. The initiative also aims to teach youth about the reuse of plastics that are typically not included in municipal recycling programs.
