The West Plains Daily Quill will be closed Thursday in observance of the Independence Day holiday, with normal office hours resuming at 8 a.m. Friday. Due to the holiday, there will be no news published online Thursday. The Quill will resume online publishing Thursday and the Saturday Gazette will print as normal.
Post offices, Missouri State University-West Plains offices, city halls, government buildings at all levels and other public offices will be closed Thursday for the Independence Day holiday.
West Plains City officials remind residents that any trash routes normally picked up Thursday will be collected Friday alongside routes normally picked up that day. No other routes will be affected. The utility counter at city hall will remain closed on Friday, reopening for normal business hours Monday.
