Boil advisory remains in effect for parts of Mtn. View

A precautionary boil advisory remains active for a portion of Mtn. View following a major water main break at the intersection of Jackson and Washington streets earlier this week.

The advisory affects all residents living south of First Street, including Washington Street from South Marr Street to South Jackson Street, as well as the entirety of Jackson Street.

City crews isolated and repaired the ruptured line, which required replacing a section of legacy asbestos-insulated pipe with modern plastic piping. Municipal officials stated that a contracted firm, Kajak, will handle the systematic replacement of the remaining legacy pipe segments moving forward. The Street Department has completed structural repairs to the road following erosion damage caused by the high-pressure water break. As of press time,  the boil advisory has not been lifted.

Lincoln School Project to host 154th District candidate discussion

The Lincoln School Project will host a free, public moderated discussion featuring the candidates for Missouri's 154th House District from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  June 25, at the historic Lincoln School, 1400 E. Pony Thomas St. in West Plains.
