On Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28, people from around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give back. The Ozarks Small Business Incubator encourages the community to take part in this international day of generosity by donating to their favorite charity, nonprofit organization, or cause.
“This global generosity movement unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities,” said OzSBI CEO Heather Fisher. “All it takes is an investment of one’s resources in a local nonprofit working to help people in poverty, children in foster care, the arts, animals and even entrepreneurs. ”
OzSBI is able to use contributions from the community to expand its business development programs, train new mentors, and hold workshops and trainings in its seven-county service area, host manufacturing roundtables, and expand its microloan program outreach. Additionally, this year, OzSBI has received $82,611 in tax credits, said Fisher. The program helps small business incubators leverage local donations to use for non operating expenses that support new business creation across Missouri. Tax credits are going fast, said Fisher, but there is still time to leverage a Giving Tuesday donation for more impact.
