Glenwood voters weigh in on $2M loan question during Tuesday’s election
As of about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, 56 Glenwood School District patrons had cast their vote, with a seat open on the school board and a ballot initiative to decide on. Chase Johnson ran against current board Vice President Jason Finley for a three-year term. The district is also asking permission to borrow $2 million for capital improvements including roof replacements, exterior improvements, an upgrade to playground equipment, the completion of athletic complex improvements such as new bleachers and a new building for concessions and restrooms, replacement of heating, ventilating and cooling, renovation of restrooms, refinishing the gym floor, remodeling to increase classroom space, and finishing other facilities repairs and improvements as funds are available. Its passage would also raise debt service levy from 0 to $0.3400 per $100 of assessed valuation of real and personal property located within the district.
