Missouri State University-West Plains and the Grizzly Club will host a tailgate beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the West Plains Civic Center exhibit hall, 110 St. Louis St. in West Plains.
Complimentary hot dogs will be provided by the Grizzly Club.
Following the tailgate, the Grizzly Volleyball team will host region rival Mineral Area College in its home opener at the civic center arena. Admission to the game also will be free.
“We are excited to finally get to play a match on our home floor in front of our home fans,” said head coach Dustin Sahlmann. “Playing our first 15 matches on the road isn’t an easy thing to do with a new roster. I am aware of what the crowd energy can and will do for our team, and we are excited to see how that impacts our performance.”
All Grizzly fans, not just Grizzly Club members, are welcome to attend the tailgate. Those interested in joining the organization may do so that evening. Memberships start at $250.
The Grizzly Club was formed in 1993 to support Missouri State University-West Plains athletic programs. Funds raised help provide educational scholarships and other program needs.
